Russian Motorcyclists "Night Wolves" in Cape Town

Yuri Volkov and Ilya Dubinin - members of the Russian club of motorcyclists the "Night Wolves" who take part in the motorcycle tour "Around the World along a Meridian" (started in Moscow on October 25, 2015) – recently reached Western Cape.

The "Night Wolves" visited Simonstown, where Russian sailors lay buried at the city cemetery and a memorial sign in the center of the town honours the “audacious escape of the imperial Russian sloop Diana”.

On January 22, Yuri Volkov, Ilya Dubinin and Anna Komarova, spokesperson for the "Night Wolves" and the Motorcycle Touring Federation of Russia, met with the Consul General Roman Ambarov and other representatives of the Consulate General. The tea-table conversation was enlivened with the stories of the motorcyclists, who shared many favourable impressions of their journey and noted the warm welcome they received in various parts of the African continent.

The motorcyclists also presented rector of the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg Priest Daniel Lugovoi, who was at the time in Cape Town, with the icons of Sergius of Radonezh and Mary Magdalene from the city of Sergiev Posad.
