What do we do?

The Consulate General protects rights and interests of the Russian Federation, of the Russian nationals, both individuals and bodies corporate; furthers the development of commercial, economic, cultural and scientific relations between Russia and the Republic of South Africa and otherwise promotes friendly relations between two countries; exercises full scale of official consular functions envisaged by the legislation of the Russian Federation, bilateral agreements as well as other principles of international law.

The Consulate General exercises consular functions for the sake of the Russian nationals permanently residing inside its consular district or temporarily visiting South Africa; South African citizens; stateless persons, as well as nationals of a third state legally staying in South Africa.

The Consulate General is a state authority for foreign relations of the Russian Federation exercising consular functions on behalf of the Russian Federation inside its consular district on the territory of the Republic of South Africa.
